System Shock Remaster on haiatus

Night Dive Studios CEO Steven Kick has announced that development on the System Shock remake is going on hiatus while they pull their heads out of their arses and try to avoid eye contact with who funded the project. Well he didn't quite say that, he actually said that perhaps they were "too successful" then went on to describe how they screwed up, whilst avoiding the words 'up' 'fucked' and 'we':
"As our concept grew and as our team changed, so did the scope of what we were doing and with that the budget for the game. As the budget grew, we began a long series of conversations with potential publishing partners. The more that we worked on the game, the more that we wanted to do, and the further we got from the original concepts that made System Shock so great."
Basically they bit off more than they could chew which happens quite allot in the industry, the real problem is what they bit off was their own making. To better explain this we've turned to our resident Cyberdude Stroggo who's following the development closer than a paedophile following a Mr Whippy.
"It's another case of gamedev hubris! The initial kickstarter was was a HD remaster of the original game. Level design, enemies, and gameplay would remain the same but it'd be running on a shiny new engine that look like Piccaso's afterbirth. About mid way through the dev cycle they decided to switch engines and it was around that time something started to go wrong. In interviews and media they released they proudly bragged about how they were expanding the games mechanics, as well as changing the level design and layout so it felt "more realistic". The daft cunts had taken the project from a remake, to a remaster, to a full fucking reboot. Suddenly they had no scope no design reference and were looking down the barrel of funding a AAA level project, considering that last years PREY did ok by AAA standards there was no fucking way any sane publisher was gonna touch it with a ten smegging foot cyberpole! Whatever they're making now it's not what the fans want, and its not what the publishers want, and it's not what I want so just give me my goddamn Trioptimum lapel pin and fuck back off to releasing abandonware!"
Ahem... err yes.. thanks for that.. Anyway it's not all doom and gloom Kick has stated that they still have money coming in from their other remasters and after a break and a re-scope a reduced development team will work will resume. Not to mention OtherSide Entertainment's System Shock 3 seems to be chugging along just fine!
