Squadron 42 Delayed, Star Citizen adds Sandworms

11 Oct 2016

Plenty of news out of LA's recent CitizenCon! Cloud Imperium Games unveiled what they'd been tinkering with since their last batch of updates, as well as set out (another) road-map of when these things might be released. Let's get the bad news out of the way first, The games singleplayer campaign Squadron 42 has been delayed pushing the release date from 2016 to some hand-wavy future date. Chris Roberts assured the crowd that they've definitely got it all planned out, but came short of giving any real explanation for the delay, saying that it wasn't polished or fancy enough:

"That’s my long-winded way of saying that as much as wanted to have Squadron 42 for this year, it’s not going to be this year"

In brighter news CI showed off some more planet-side gameplay including a sequence straight out of a Frank Herbert Novel. The planets themselves are reportedly hand crafted (to a degree) which should make them more interesting than what No Man's Sky brought to the table, although that's not a particularly high bar to pass.

We've included the full presentation below, so if you've bugger all to do this Tuesday why not give it a watch!
